He alone is our protection

 The fall of Jericho........ In my prayer and alone time with the Lord this morning the Lord brings to my remembrance the fall of Jericho. God had a strange plan for the Battle of Jericho he told them to march around the city 
for 7 days blowing their trumpets and on the seventh day the men gave a shout, and the walls fell down. 

God ordered Joshua to destroy every living thing in the city except for Rahab and her family. When Joshua was near Jericho he saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword. Joshua asked "Are you for us or against our enemies?" Neither he replied, but as a Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come." Joshua fell face down to the ground in reverence and said "What message does my Lord have for his servant?" The commander of the Lord's army replied "Take off your sandals, for the place you were standing is Holy". The gates of Jericho were secured because of the Israelites. No one went out, and no one came in. So the Lord told Joshua to march around the city. Do this for 6 days, and on the 7th day march around the city, blow your trumpets and when you hear the sound, a long blast on the trumpet, have the whole army give a shout and the walls of the city collapsed!!!! 
Joshua said go into the prostitute's house Rahab, bring her out, and all who belong to her. And the men went and brought Rahab, her father, mother, her brothers and sisters and all that belongs to her. They brought her entire family to safety, and then they burned the whole city and everything in it. 
{Rahab is in the Lineage of Jesus Christ for a reason!}

We as God's people, are to consecrate ourselves, set ourselves apart from everything of this world that would separate us from our God. 
He tells us, come out from among them, the world. His promise is to call us out, protect us, as He did Joshua, his men who were obedient, and Rahab and all her family. The Lord with the sword will destroy every living thing on this earth that is not of him............ All through his word, he has told his people, come out from among them. He destroyed everything the first time with water, and as He has promised, will destroy everything this time with fire.
 Our safety, our covering, our shield, our direction, our provision is in Him, 
our ark.
