This is a post of a friend:Stan Snyder;

     Are you a true servant?

Are you a servant of God, do you serve as a witness, do you serve as a teacher, what exactly is the goal that you have for yourself in your service to God?

 1) let me say that service to God must begin with total submission and obedience, without these two things, God cannot use you to do His will. We must understand that service to God is submitting to His will, totally, anything else is serving man or self service. But I serve the church!
Congratulations, serving the church and serving God are two totally different matters. But, I want to hand out tracks, I want to serve in a soup kitchen, I want to serve in our church booth at the fall festival. Notice a trend here, each one of these statements start with "I want".

 What does God want, what personal talent, what gifts has he given each of us so that we might serve Him? Many years ago,  The Holy Spirit told me to to find a pad of paper and a pen, to sit down and write, write what I asked,  I'm not a writer?  I wonder if this is how the writers of the New Testament began their journey as servants of God? The Holy Spirit's answer to my question is burned into my brain.  The Spirit responded with, " I don't think I asked - I directed you".    At that point I decided, no more questions, I would simply wait on further instruction. God's plan is for each of us to share the Gospel of Christ, to plant the seed of Salvation, or to water the seed. If we spend our entire life serving on committees, doing the work and will of men.  Then how will we possibly answer God when He asks, " what was my will for you, how did you serve me? "

1st Corinthians 3:5-11  Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as The Lord gave to every man. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that plants any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase. Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are labors together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the Grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder  I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon, But let every man take heed how he builds thereon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he will suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Amen.

Therefore if anyone should say to you that they are doing God's work,  remember that God is perfectly capable of doing "His" own work, because our job as servants, and  as a witnesses is to do "God's Will".

 The instruction I received that morning from The Spirit, to pick up a pen and paper and to write what The Spirit told me, was the beginning of these Bible verses which had began over ten years ago. Your service on a church committee, on this or on that project, may or may not be the will of God, decide who you wish to serve, will your service stand up to God's test by fire?

Will you receive the reward that God has for His obedient servants?

 Submit to God's will totally all that you have, beginning with your life and then ask Him,  "What is your will for me Father, Your will, not mine be done."

Here is the true purpose a d direction for all mankind!
